It’s hard to believe Washington Green Spa & Wellness is celebrating eight years. When I stop to think about it, I can still feel the mix of excitement, nerves, and hope that filled those early days. Before opening the spa, I spent nearly a decade renting rooms in salons and spa combinations, learning from so many incredible professionals along the way. I loved what I did, but I also saw a need for something different. Clients were searching for professional, results-driven massage therapists, and so many of us were fully booked. I wanted to create a place where people could experience true relaxation from the moment they walked in until the moment they stepped back out into the world. A calm, restorative space that wasn’t interrupted by the sounds of blow dryers or the buzz of chatter. I also wanted to build a team culture that felt supportive rather than competitive. A place where clients could see whoever fit them best, and where therapists could focus on what they love most: caring for others. My goal was to create a home for providers who wanted stability, teamwork, and the chance to grow without the added stress of managing a business on their own. When we opened, I never could have imagined the amount of community support that would surround us. The build-out was truly a family affair—my dad, husband, brother, and even my two little boys pitched in. Those days were filled with sawdust, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. Of course, there were challenges. Learning how to hire and train staff while still seeing clients, staff the front desk, and balance it all took time. Like many small business owners, I had to learn that not everyone would carry the same load or have the same capacity, and that saying no sometimes was the best choice for everyone. Looking back, what makes me most proud isn’t just how much we’ve grown, it’s the culture we’ve created. Our tribe supports one another through ongoing education, shared services, and a genuine focus on self-care. We know that when our providers are cared for, they can care deeply for others. Some team members stay for a season, others for many chapters, but each one has shaped who we are today. When I think about my original dream, I can honestly say we’ve become something even better. Washington Green Spa & Wellness is larger and more diverse than I ever imagined, now home to eighteen talented tribe members offering a wide range of services. I never expected to step into a mentorship role, but our massage apprenticeship program has become one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. Helping others find their path in this field has been a true joy. And then, there’s you, our clients. You are the heartbeat of this place. I still see familiar faces who have been with me since the very beginning, and it means the world. I remember the days when I knew almost every person who walked through our doors. Now, when I work the front desk and see new faces, I’m filled with gratitude for how much our community continues to grow. Every referral, every review, every recommendation or tag online, it all matters so much more than I can express. As we celebrate eight years, my heart is full. I’m proud of what we’ve built, grateful for every person who’s been part of it, and excited for what comes next. Growth will always be part of our story, but our core will never change. My hope is that every person who walks through our doors continues to feel cared for, valued, and at home. Thank you for being part of this journey, whether you’ve been with us since day one or just recently found your way to us, you are a part of the reason we’re here. With heartfelt gratitude, Regina
