We want to make sure we are as good of a fit for you as you are for us. We encourage you to read a bit about us and what we do before applying.
A few things that we feel set us apart from the majority:
1. We start each day off with a good dad joke. We started building our tribe (that's what we call our team) around those who are looking for a great atmosphere, as in, not afraid to work when the work needs to be done but also looking to have fun while doing it. We look to schedule regular staff events so not only do we work hard, we of course make room for a little play.
2. Hourly Pay, creating financial stability. We don't do the commission thing. You get paid hourly, the whole time you're here working. We really endorse the team atmosphere and want to show our tribe that we value more than just their hands. While the majority of the day is spent with clients, we do know that there will occasionally be down time or those pesky no-shows. During that downtime you're still getting paid and expected to do things that help create lift for the spa like fold laundry, send a client a quick card, decorate our chalkboard, create a protocol for a new service you've designed, teach a class to fellow staff members, create a video for social media.... Every tribe member has a different passion and a different set of skills. We encourage you to use them and grow with us! We also find that being able to switch things up a bit helps prevent burnout- a thing that we know is high in this industry. Oh yea, we also do yearly pay reviews. So don't worry, while we don't do commission, we still track your contribution to the team and pay accordingly.
3. We practice what we preach. How can you suggest to a client to return for regular sessions when your last bodywork session was over 6 months ago? How can you suggest a completely different service to a client when you haven't experienced it? We help with that! Each month, we add "points" to your employee account to be used toward services. You also get "points" for your Welcome-To-The Spa Gift, Birthday, Work-i-Versary and when you volunteer within the community.
4. Monthly Rewards. We set goals and work to reach them together as a team. Each month we have our goals posted and work toward reaching them together. When we do, each and every tribe member earns the reward for that month! Examples of past rewards earned: $50 gift certificates to Downtown Washington- giving them the ability to be redeemed at over 35 locations + support other local businesses, gift card to Ryse Up Bungee Studio, Pie Your Boss Day, cash, paid their cell phone bills for the month, rented a movie theater for a private showing and more.
5. Profit Sharing Bonus. Each month, we set aside a % of the profit and gift it to our tribe in November as a Thank You for your hard work. This year we gave the biggest bonuses to date!
6. Paid Time Off for full-time staff after your initial 90 days with us. Full-time staff also receives 3 paid holidays + 2 paid sick days per year. (Full time is considered 32 + hours per week, regularly scheduled)
7. Complimentary Financial Coaching is available to all. We know that stress with finances makes life not all that great. We give you the tools to be able to create a plan to get out of debt and work toward creating wealth and living stress free when it comes to finances. This is not a requirement, but we want you to know it's available.
8. Some of our other benefits include: partial or full payment of professional liability insurance and paid CEUs (depending on full/part-time status), retail discounts, service discounts, workshops and professional development classes and more.
